Heavy, heavier, heaviest

Early this year, Güdel successfully introduced the TrackMotionFloor floor traversing axis in size five for heavy industrial robots. Now, the long-standing company has taken the product to yet another level. The next size, the TMF-6, was recently rolled out. The modular TMF-6 is expandable and can move static payloads of up to 20 tonnes and dynamic loads of up to 13.3 tonnes. That makes the TMF-6 one of a kind.

The new floor traversing axis was unveiled at this year's Automatica expo in Munich, where it quickly attracted attention. Güdel showcased this most recent proof of the company's innovative skill at the booth of its partner, Japanese robot manufacturer Fanuc. The TMF-6 functioned as seventh axis on Fanuc's largest heavy-duty robot, the M-2000iA, and moved a whole car: the Audi Q2. Watch the video.

The TMF-6 is compatible with common heavy-duty robot models from a range of manufacturers. Variable adapter plates allow for easy integration of articulated robots and tool holding devices

The powerful drive system consists of planetary gearboxes, heavy-load guideway systems, racks and pinions, all made at Güdel's dedicated production facility. Motors can be selected according to specific requirements. The TMF-6 includes up to two carriers as standard. Like the other sizes, the TMF-6 can be extended from the smallest size of 3 m to up to 100 m. The TMF-6 can absorb 5 t/m2  of pressure, a testament to its robust, solid workmanship and the high quality of Güdel components. Thanks to all these features, the TMF-6 is the ultimate traversing axis for ultra-heavy-duty applications.
